HGV Mechanic

gap personnel are working with a well-established and respected commercial vehicle maintenance provider, known for delivering expert services to the haulage and commercial sectors. Due to growth, they are looking for a dedicated HGV Mechanic to join the team on a permanent basis in Exeter.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Performing inspections, routine servicing, and MOT preparation
  • Engine and gearbox overhauls as required
  • Ensuring all compliance and service paperwork is completed accurately
  • Contributing to a safe, efficient, and friendly workshop environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with HGVs or in a commercial vehicle environment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on night shifts
  • A positive, team-focused approach and pride in quality workmanship
  • CAT C HGV Licence
  • Own tools beneficial
