I am working with a client in Exmouth who are looking to recruit a Temporary Shop Manager to support whilst they recruit on a perm basis. This role is to start ASAP and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for the perm role. This is a full time role- 37.5 hours a week, shifts will cover 5 days over the 7 days of the week on a rota basis.

Your mission is to maximise fundraising opportunities through the efficient operation and effective management of the Trust’s shop and its volunteers.

Responsibilities:

You will have good social communication and customer care skills.

You will ensure customers, volunteers and colleagues are treated with respect and a friendly but professional manner.

We have a standard for providing excellent customer service to all volunteers, which we will expect you to model. This will mean providing our volunteers with feedback and training, when required.

You will undertake cascade training, such as manual handling or new equipment familiarisation.

Take ownership for customer complaints and feedback adhering to company policy.

Be an ambassador for the charity maintaining public relations and promoting the service.

Ensure donated goods are received with appropriate thanks and sensitivity.

Ensure that unsaleable items are sorted and prepare for recycling or waste.

Achieve and aim to exceed annual sales budget and gift aid claim target.

Control the store’s expenditure and balance the store’s profit and loss account.

Promote gift aid registration to new donors.

Ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role and have retail experience.
