About Us

COFCO is a global agri-business that employs 11,000 people in 37 countries. Our UK operations are active at every stage of the agricultural supply chain, purchasing combinable crops from farmers, and marketing these to the food, feed and biofuels industries. Additionally, we supply our farming clients with a fully comprehensive range of seeds and fertilisers.

Grainseed is our specialty seed merchanting business, which offers a nationwide sales service through our network of knowledgeable agents and distributors.

The Role

We now have a unique opportunity for a proven Seed Sales Specialist to join our expanding team at Grainseed. This is an exciting role for someone with previous agricultural sales experience, ideally in sales of forage crops directly to growers.

The main purpose of the role is to promote and sell directly to merchants & farmers the full range of Grainseed products including seed, fertiliser, and silage sheets/additives. You will achieve this by building relationships with new customers, and actively supporting our existing customer base through on-site visits, sales, product training, and presentations. You will be responsible for promoting the Companys marketing and PR activities including; trade shows, advertising, sales literature, and customer hospitality. You will also keep abreast of developments and industry trends, allowing you to identify new potential products and evaluate the commercial benefit of these.

The person

We are looking for someone with previous agricultural sales experience, ideally selling forage crops to growers, however this is not essential. You would need to have a broad understanding of the UK ruminant livestock sector and the growing of all forage crops in the UK.

Experience of the UK seed trade and the seed merchant network is a must, with any exposure to PR initiatives for promoting the performance of crops and varieties to growers a bonus.

We are looking for someone who has great interpersonal skills and knows how to build effective, long-lasting relationships with customers. Your IT skills will be excellent to allow efficient record keeping and checking of customer orders.

This can be a home-based role, which includes UK travel to our client base and offices, as required, so a valid UK driving licence is a must.

In Return

In return we offer a competitive salary and bonus package, car allowance, 25 days holiday per year increasing by a day a year to 30 days after 5 years service, life assurance, Income protection and a contributory pension scheme.
