Hales Group are happy to be working with their established client to assist them in their search for a Warehouse Supervisor / Plant Supervisor. You will be responsible for the supervision of the effective and efficient running of the warehouse and plant. Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.30am till 4.30pm - You will need to be flexible during busy periods - Overtime will be paid at time in a half. Responsibilities include, but not limited to
  • To be responsible for the preparation, distribution and supervision of daily and weekly work schedules through regular liaison with the Logistics Coordinator & Senior Plant Operative.
  • Daily supervision of the performance of operatives.
  • Be the main liaison point between office logistics and warehouse production.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all goods-in consignments are correctly recorded.
  • Management of goods-out processes ensuring that all relevant paperwork and checks are carried out.
  • Ensuring the correct levels of stock management and location of stock.
  • To plan and manage both the preventative maintenance and daily scheduled maintenance/safety checks for plant, equipment and machinery to ensure safe and smooth running of these.
  • Responsible for reporting any issues/faults with any plant, equipment and machinery
  • To ensure that all stores, warehouses and handling equipment are clean and fit for purpose before use and that product losses are kept to a minimum.
  • To assist in the effective production, implementation and maintenance of the Quality System for Grainseed. Ensuring that all specified checks are carried out and appropriate documentation maintained, and all relevant Codes of Practice complied with.
  • To organise the effective management of all operations which impact the environment and to ensure that best practice is promoted and implemented.
  • Promote and supervise adherence to the Health & Safety at Work Act through the implementation and maintenance of appropriate practices, training, reporting and documentation.
  • To ensure that all items of plant, equipment, machinery, and vehicles are operated in a safe and efficient manner.
  • To ensure effective security and cleanliness of the site and maintain the highest working level of housekeeping and site presentation.
  • To act as first-in-line Emergency Call Out in case of site emergency outside of normal working hours.
  • To ensure the promotion at all times of a professional Company and personal image.
  • To carry out any other occasional duties as requested by the Operations Manager.
Candidate Attributes
  • Essential – Plant Supervisory experience
  • Essential – Goods in/out and stock management experience
  • Desirable – Forklift License
  • Desirable – Agricultural background
  • Desirable - BASIS Storekeepers Certificate or similar
