Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team, embodying our core values of Health & Safety, customer service, and teamwork. This role is crucial for ensuring that our plant operations run efficiently and customer service levels are maximised.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Contribute to a progressive departmental attitude towards Health & Safety through personal conduct and as part of the Maintenance team.
  • Liaise with all plant supervision to ensure smooth plant operations and provide a timely response in the event of breakdowns.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out repairs on machines throughout the plant.
  • Participate in the Company Fire Team, understanding Fire Safety and Evacuation Procedures.
  • Support all aspects of continuous improvement and understand the plant start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Perform checks and tests on plant and equipment as required by the PPM Schedule or other sources.
  • Record all work on the Planned Maintenance System and work according to the Company’s ISO 9001 Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Undertake necessary training to keep work skills up-to-date and assist in training colleagues from other departments as required.
  • Be flexible and available for callouts on emergency plant breakdowns and absence cover, which may include overtime to meet production requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified multi-skilled technician, ideally in a medium or heavy engineering environment with strong electrical competency.
  • Recognised apprenticeship/HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.
  • Open style, team player, with excellent leadership and man management skills.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous but not essential.
