About the Role
Join a high-profile infrastructure project that plays a crucial role in Britain's move towards Net Zero. We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee key elements of the Sizewell C nuclear power station construction. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in major projects, particularly within the highways sector.
Key Responsibilities
Define detailed project scope and manage interfaces with other programme elements.
Develop and maintain a robust project programme with clear stakeholder coordination.
Oversee budget development, monitor expenditure, and generate monthly reports.
Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where needed.
Secure necessary resources and address any shortfalls in project or contract teams.
Ensure adherence to governance arrangements, including project review gates.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Manage contract-related issues, escalating concerns to the Senior Project Manager.
Implement knowledge-sharing practices to capture lessons learned.
Maintain strong working relationships across project teams and partners.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years' experience managing major infrastructure projects.
Degree-qualified with experience in NEC contracts.
Proven track record in delivering highway schemes under the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges (DMRB) framework.
Experience in regulated highway environments (e.g., local authority or National Highways), including S278 works and S106 agreements.
Knowledge of Chapter 8 Traffic Management and experience delivering or managing traffic schemes.
Familiarity with utility works in the public highway and coordination of diversionary work.
Project Management qualification (APM PMQ or equivalent).
Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and contract execution strategies.
Experience managing costs, risks, schedules, and change processes.
Skilled in engaging with multi-level stakeholders including contractors and consultants.
Working knowledge of NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements.
Proficient numeracy, analytical, and critical reasoning skills.
Understanding of a graded approach to quality.
French language skills (advantageous but not essential).
