Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality food technology lessons tailored to the diverse needs of SEMH students.
  • Develop and implement creative and practical cooking projects that inspire and engage students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes participation and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and enhance student learning experiences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to food technology.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching food technology, ideally within an SEMH or special education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by SEMH students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • A strong passion for food and cooking, coupled with a commitment to student development.
