Job Title: Multi-skilled Technician
Location: Diss
Salary: £45,000 Per Annum

Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement? We are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi-skilled Technician to join our clients growing Operations team at their Diss location. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of their processing equipment. Your expertise will help them maintain high standards of machine availability, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsive engineering support to the Site Operations Management Team to maintain and enhance machine availability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve faults in processing equipment and ancillary devices, ensuring quick recovery and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment and process conditions to consistently achieve 'right first time' quality standards.
  • Maximise equipment utilisation by executing effective preventative maintenance, timely calibrations, and routine safety checks.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs during factory shutdown periods.

Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship trained or HNC qualified in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment with both mechanical and electrical expertise.


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Electrical:

  • Proficient in fault finding on electrical circuits.
  • Experience with AC variable speed drives (e.g., Lenze, Sew, Control Techniques, Siemens) and DC drives (e.g., Siemens, ABB, SSD).
  • Familiarity with Siemens S5, S7, and Allen Bradley PLCs.

Mechanical:

  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with steam systems and mechanical drive systems (power transmission).
  • Capable of performing general mechanical repairs.
