We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join a Defence organisation. This role involves completing maintenance, repairs, installations, and operation of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and related equipment. This temporary position offers the potential for permanent employment based on performance.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Complete maintenance records and quality checks documentation.
  • Repair, install, and operate HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance malfunction data to analyse malfunctions.
  • Use various test equipment, load banks, and other diagnostic equipment as required by technical data.
  • Prepare assets/equipment for transport in accordance with technical orders, manuals, checklists, regulations, and configurations.
  • Operate material handling equipment as required.
  • Inspect Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinate with the appropriate office for disposal.
  • Ensure all tools and personal protective equipment remain safe, secure, and serviceable.
  • Erect, construct, and operate HVAC systems and associated equipment to support exercises and contingencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or assist in other departments as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • UK citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of military or civilian experience in HVAC systems (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Certified refrigeration technician through military or civilian formal technical training.
  • EPA CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Processing Certification.
  • Knowledge of military or civilian maintenance systems, quality assurance, and supervisory techniques.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical data.
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
  • Experience with High Voltage power generation equipment (5000 volts or higher).
