This Management Accountant job in the Falkirk/West Lothian areawith a well-known business is an excellent opportunity for someone with good management accounting skills to make an impact through the provision of good quality management/financial information, with some insight and analysis. Through careful management and solid, long-term planning, the company has a strong balance sheet and is well placed to meet the challenges of the current economic climate. As Management Accountant, you will provide the Senior Management Team with high quality financial and management information. Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Production of monthly management accounts with associated commentary and analysis
- Preparing budgets, forecasts and re-forecasts
- Preparing packs for Senior Management and presenting this information at management meetings/Board meetings
- Liaising with numerous stakeholders within and outwith finance - acting as a finance business partner and answering any queries they may have
- Support the statutory accounts process, including liaising with external advisors as necessary
- Oversee AP, AR and other operational finance personnel
- Support the SMT with bespoke projects and analysis as required by the business
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will have good management accounting knowledge, gained in a manufacturing, FMCG, construction or related business. You may be part-qualified and actively studying to become a fully qualified accountant, or you may be time-served and be qualified by experience. Applications are also welcomed from "returners to work", either through a period of maternity and looking to get back into the work place, or who have had a career break and sabbatical. Candidates looking to work on a part-time or reduced hours basis may also be considered.
Regardless of your background and skill-set, it is important that you have well developed IT skills (particularly around Microsoft Excel) as well as accounting packages such as Sage or Xero. The ability to speak to a wide stakeholder base, up to and including Executive level would be a real advantage, as would be your ability to work on your initiative and prepare good quality work to reasonable timescales.
