Barker Ross are looking for FLT Counterbalance Drivers for our client based in Falkirk!
Forklift operators are required to operate 5t and 7t counterbalance forklifts and 35t straddle carrier. Operator must have minimum 5 years experience driving a forklift in a factory environment. Instruction will be given on the operation of the straddle carrier.
Pay: £14 per hour
Hours:
Mon-Thu 7:30-16:30
Fri- 7:30-14:00
1 hour break: 2x 15 min (paid) and 30min (unpaid)
Duties:
- Working in various areas of the factory and external yard under the direction of a chargehand.
- Generally, offloading deliveries: individual steel coils weigh up to 5t, packs of sheet material - OSB, Cement particle board, insulation, etc.
- Loading coils onto roll formers, lifting packs of components to storage area or onto assembly
- Lifting and stacking assembled panels or cassettes
- Daily, Weekly maintenance checks of the forklift or s/carrier and completing checksheet.
- Operator is expected to assist in general duties in the factory if the forklift is not busy.
- General housekeeping of the roll forming area.
Requirements:
- Ability to work as part of a busy team.
- Self-motivated, conscientious and enthusiastic.
- Good timekeeping and attendance.
- Keen, flexible, adaptable with a positive attitude.
- Physically fit, no underlying musculoskeletal issues
- Previous experience as a forklift operator is necessary, min 5 years
Other:
- Manual handling training provided
- Method Statements and Risk assessments explained and reviewed with operative before commencement.
- Uniform provided, after probation period
- PPE and all handtools provided
- Drugs and Alcohol testing are regularly undertaken all operatives must agree to taking part in testing.
