Anderson Knight is currently looking for an Inventory Controller for one of our clients on the out-skirts of Glasgow.
The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate stock levels, monitoring inventory movement, and ensuring that all inventory processes are compliant with the company's policies. The role involves close coordination with suppliers, warehouse staff, and other departments to optimise inventory management and prevent any disruptions to production or sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies.
- Track and record stock levels, deliveries, and stock movements in the system.
- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
- Manage reorder points and generate purchase orders when stock levels are low.
- Oversee stock replenishment and ensure the timely ordering of items.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely and accurate deliveries.
- Track and monitor purchase orders, deliveries, and product lead times.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to stock deliveries with suppliers.
- Negotiate with vendors to optimize costs and ensure the best terms for procurement.
- Update and maintain the inventory management system with current stock levels, item information, and transactions.
- Ensure all inventory-related data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Generate and review inventory reports to monitor stock performance, usage trends, and potential shortages.
- Work closely with procurement, sales, warehouse, and production teams to align inventory levels with business needs.
- Provide inventory status updates and reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate stock transfers between locations when necessary.
- Keep up-to-date with best practices in inventory management and suggest enhancements to increase efficiency.
Experience:
- Proven experience (2+ years) in inventory control, supply chain, or warehouse management.
