Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate work to our depot-based maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Manage daily staffing levels, including holiday schedules, absence management, and overtime coordination.
  • Oversee stock management to ensure optimal inventory levels for servicing and repairs.
  • Coordinate servicing and maintenance activities for trailers, cranes, and other equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Take a 'hands-on' approach, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on a variety of equipment, including mobile cranes, tower cranes, crawler cranes, HGVs, and light commercial vehicles.
  • Prioritise work orders effectively, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Uphold our commitment to health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining a controlled environment for all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Person Specification

Education/Knowledge/Experience

  • Time served technician with a recognised industry qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ).
  • Supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of mobile cranes, plant machinery, and heavy vehicles.
  • Experience in work allocation and stock management.

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on various equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
