Roles and Responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician:

As the Mechanical technician you will be based predominantly at their site in the Stirlingshire area but will occasionally be required to travel across Scotland and Ireland sites.

You will be responsible for providing mechanical support to the terminal through ensuring that all mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are suitably planned, actioned and/or mitigated. While you ensure that maintenance is planned and executed in line with company expectations, policies, procedures and guidance you will also be supporting plant operations whilst maximizing plant availability through effective best practice maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical maintenance of equipment onsite (including both PPM and reactive Maintenance)
  • Writing Risk Assessments for the Site and various Equipment
  • Use of P&ID's and other Mechanical Drawings
  • Working with Alignment Equipment such as Motors, Seals & Pumps and Vibration Monitoring
  • Working with Nitrogen and other liquids and chemicals
  • Issuing Permits to Work
  • Working with Recovery Units

Requirements and Qualifications of the Mechanical Technician:

  • Apprentice Trained or Relevant Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years' experience within Mechanical Maintenance
  • Mechanical COMPEX Qualification
  • Proficient in Mechanical Isolations and Safe Systems of Work
  • COMAH Experience of experience of working in MAH Environments
  • Previous experience of working with Nitrogen
