Our client is currently recruiting a Production Manager who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day safety, quality, throughput, and some of the unit's costs.

Working with the Site Manager, the focus of the Production Manager will be to execute the daily, and weekly plans for all site KPI's, managing the manpower and other resources to carry them out efficiently and productively. You will lead continuous improvement activities to improve operational efficiencies to deliver reductions and cost whilst providing leadership of the on-shift management team, operatives and engineers, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.

Hours of Work: Day/Nightshift rotational

Approx: 45hours per week

Responsibilities

Support effective usage of process improvement and lean manufacturing tools such as SPC, GMP, FMEAs, Kaizen, 5S and Lean Sigma structured problem-solving techniques.

Implementation of the plant sickness and absence policies, including return to work interviews.Ensure plant operations are managed in line with Health and Safety legislation and standards.

Deputise for Site Manager when not on site.

Ensure the site plant and equipment operates to maximum efficiency in a safe and controlled manner and that all operations are recorded formally.

Ensure all operators, contractors and visitors are working and adhering to company safety systems, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained on site.

To comply with all safety instruction and procedures reporting any unsafe practices, accidents or incidents.

To carry out annual and timely Performance Appraisal Reviews (PAR's) of all direct employee's

Experience/Skills

Knowledge and experience of the H&S at work act

Supervisory experience/qualification.

Previous experience in a process environment

Experience of continuous process operations

Good communication skills at all levels.

Ability to work as part of a team

Six sigma technics

Good fault finding and trouble shooting

Knowledge of control and maintenance systems

Able to deal effectively and timely with conflicting pressures of work

Computer literate
