Assembly / Bench Chargehand
Barker Ross are recruiting for Assembly/ Bench chargehands to work for our client based in Falkirk.
This is ongoing, full-time work that will lead to a permanent position with our Client. The role requires candidates with proven experience in the manufacturing or construction industry. Leading the assembly tables as part of the team of 4-6 operatives producing wall panels or floor cassettes. The role is that of a working supervisor; hands-on with their team.
- Pay: 16.00 per hour.
- Hours: 38hrs.
- A productivity bonus scheme will be introduced enabling employees to earn a further 20% of their salary.
- Mon-Thu 7:30-16:30 Fri- 7:30-14:00.
- 1hour breaks: 15 min morning and 45 min lunch. 30mins on Friday.
Duties:
Liaise with management and other chargehands to ensure optimal production.
Ensure materials and equipment are readied for assembly.
Organise the unloading of components from trolleys delivered to work area.
Check components are ordered correctly, referring to layout drawings as required.
Supervision and use of battery power tools to fasten light steel components, particle board or metal deck sheets.
Ensure safe operation of assembly tables and overhead crane (training provided).
Responsible for quality control and safe operation of bench area.
Highlight any workflow or quality issues to management at the earliest opportunity.
