First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Mechanical Plant Fitter to join a nationally established company in the Central Belt region, for their Falkirk-Livingston premise.
What's on Offer:
- Straight to perm role
- Monday to Friday
- Mon to Thurs 8am to 5pm and Fri is 8am to 4:30pm
- Workshop based
This role will report directly to the Workshop Manager and you will be expected to work as part of a collaborative team of operatives in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of a wide array of heavy plant and machinery.
Duties will involve the following:
- Ensure machinery operates efficiently and adheres to all safety regulations.
- Take proactive steps to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Provide outstanding customer service and technical support as required.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both customers and team members.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of work completed and parts used.
- Contribute to a positive, productive work environment by collaborating with the team.
- Uphold the company's high-quality standards and recognize the importance of customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems, delivering effective solutions promptly.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential skills, experience and knowledge:
The successful candidate must have:
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HND, or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with heavy plant machinery is essential
- Full, clean driving license is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems related to heavy plant machinery.
- Demonstrated experience in the plant industry or a comparable field.
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and the capability to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals.
- A customer-centric approach, committed to delivering top-tier service.
- Capable of working both independently and within a team, showing initiative and problem-solving expertise.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail while upholding safety and quality standards.
