Financial Controller

Whiteley – office based.

Up to £75k

Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be exclusively supporting a growing SME based in Whiteley, Hampshire, in their search for a Qualified Financial Controller to join their close-knit team.

This well-established, specialist vehicle leasing business is about to begin the next stage in their evolution and requires a full time Financial Controller to take over the reins from the current incumbent who is retiring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day responsibility of the Finance function and a small team.
  • Preparation of detailed Monthly Management Accounts on a timely basis for the four operating companies within the Group (as well as a Group Consolidation), for the Operational Management Team and external parties as required.
  • Monitoring, managing and reporting on the day-to-day liquidity movements and forecasts.
  • Ensuring Treasury movements and balances comply with banking covenants and are made on a timely basis.
  • Maintenance of a database of all vehicles out of Contract Hire or Short-Term rental to act as a centralised repository of data for asset control, cashflow forecasting and other related analysis.
  • Compliance with HMRC VAT obligations ensuring accurate returns are made on a timely basis for all companies within the Group.
  • Satisfying Financial Conduct Authority reporting requirements ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Developing detailed Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecast for the next three months, extending this to six months forward when visibility allows.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or ACMA qualified with at least 3 years post-qualification experience in SMEs. Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in Financial Services and exposure to the Motor Trade, particularly vehicle leasing.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Experience interpreting and complying with complex contractual agreements
  • Working knowledge of IFRS 16 and Xero Accounting Software
  • Hands-on approach, adaptability, and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and excellent attention to detail
