Job Title: Support Technician
Location: Fareham
Salary: 26,000 - 28,000
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Technician to join a dynamic software company based in Fareham. In this role, you'll provide 1st and 2nd line support through the service desk, offering critical assistance to both internal teams and external clients.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in IT, with strong technical skills and a keen ability to communicate effectively. You will be responsible for troubleshooting a range of software and hardware issues, ensuring prompt and accurate resolutions in a fast-paced environment.
This role is fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in a high-pressure environment, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
- Accurately log support requests and track progress to ensure timely resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve a variety of issues related to EPoS systems, Windows OS, and network connectivity, minimizing downtime.
- Escalate more complex technical issues to 2nd/3rd line support teams as necessary.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain in-house EPoS applications, as well as associated hardware (printers, cash drawers, line displays).
- Manage and troubleshoot the company's back-office application.
- Resolve network connectivity issues within a LAN/WAN environment.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of EPoS systems and business-related processes.
- Solid knowledge of server/client architecture and network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in working with desktop hardware and PCs.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7/10/11).
- Experience working with Microsoft Services and Web Services.
- Familiarity with networking hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
