Hunts Recruitment is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager for a Residential Children's home near Fareham.

Salary:£35,000 per annum plus optional over time as offered

Job type:Full time, permanent - 37.5 hours per week

Shifts:Across Monday to Friday -Weekends may be requireddepending on staffing

Hours: 22.5hrs operational / 15hrs on thefloor

On call duties on average once per week

You will be working shifts across the Monday to Friday (primarily) plus on-call on average once per week. Your role will be based within a home for young people with additional learning needs and behaviours.

Main Duties:

  • Assist the Registered Manager in the monitoring of the performance of the home on a regular basis, according to their Quality Assurance Process, ensuring it complies with all policies.

  • Assist in the management oversight of all aspects of work in the home including direct work with the young people.

  • Build, maintain and develop relationships with placing authorities from which the child originates.

  • Promote and facilitate the healthy development of the children and young people placed in the home.

  • Protect children and young people from threats to their health, welfare, and normal development, both from inside and outside the home.

  • Perform On Call duties as required.

Essential Attributes:

  • Qualified or be working towards level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare. You will need a level 3 minimum.

  • Have experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour

  • Have experience leading a team and effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Diligent, enthusiastic and passionate regarding your work responsibilities

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a similar setting.
