The Role of CNC Machinist
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Manufacture injection mould tooling and components
- Modify injection mould tools, including electrode manufacture, producing job sheets and work instructions
- CAD designing, from scratch models to modifying existing 3D CAD models
- Manufacture of jigs and fixtures to support all areas of the business
- Online and offline CAM programming (Heidenhain & Siemens controllers)
- Operating 3 Axis and 5 Axis CNC Milling machines
What We're Looking For
The ideal CNC Machinist candidate will have:
- GCSE A-C in Maths and English (essential)
- Full apprenticeship or time served as a Machinist/Toolmaker (desirable)
- HNC/HND in mechanical engineering (desirable)
- Experience in setting and operating CNC machines
- Proficiency in CAD and CAM software
- Expertise in 3 and 5 Axis VMC programming
- Knowledge of Heidenhain controllers
