Salary: Up to £35,150.00 pa. (40-hour week).

The role of Carpenter, multi-trade. No two days will be the same. You’ll work across social housing, schools, offices, and commercial properties, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

Carpenter Multi Trade operative for fabric maintenance and void repairs in the Fareham area, focusing on kitchen, bathroom, and wet room upgrades in tenanted properties. Applicants should have relevant qualifications, broad commercial experience, and the ability to handle tasks outside their core trade. A professional appearance, DBS clearance, and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify faults in core and other trades.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly.
  • Ensure cost-effective work and minimize non-productive time.
  • Adhere to health & safety rules, use PPE, and maintain equipment.
  • Provide clear communication with customers and team members.
  • Assist other contracts as needed and maintain a clean, well-kept company vehicle.

Skills Required:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry.
  • Competence in secondary trades (e.g., kitchen installation, door hanging).
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with a “right first-time” approach.
  • Practical knowledge of health and safety.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Experience in fabrication work and fire door installation (desirable).
  • Full current driving license.
  • Over 5 years of trade experience, particularly in residential repairs.
  • Knowledge of residential Building Regulations and kitchen installations.
