I am currently recruiting on behalf of a mediumsized housing developer with a great reputation mostly within the south coast region. This is a chance to join a company that can offer stability and security in an uncertain market. They now seek a health and safety officer to join the company on a permanent basis. The salary is negotiable DOE between 40k - 45k p/a + package. This will be both office and site based where required, and the office is based within Whiteley, Hampshire.

You will be employed on a permanent basis, working 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: assist in reviewing subcontractor risk assessments and method statements, implement dynamic risk assessments, outline safe operational procedures, carry out regular inspections, check policies are being adhered to, prepare health and safety strategies, keep records of inspection findings, record incidents and accidents and assist in producing management reports.

They are looking for somebody with relevant experience within this type of role within the construction sector. You need to have strong communication skills, be highly organised, have good analytical skills and have the ability to convey complex information in a simple way to non-technical people. You must have good IT skills with experience of using Microsoft applications such as outlook and excel. They want somebody who has great attention to detail, who is keen to grow and develop, and somebody willing to work towards or hold a qualification in NEBOSH. You must possessexpert knowledge of health and safety legislation as this role will be lone working as the sole health and safety lead within the company.
