Electronic Design Engineer

Role Overview:
The Electronic Design Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, is responsible for designing and optimising PCB schematics and layouts, ensuring manufacturability, performance, and compliance with industry and customer requirements.

Electronic Design Engineer Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in PCB schematic capture and layout.
  • Degree in electronics.
  • Proficiency in ECAD tools (Altium, Fusion/Eagle).
  • Understanding of PCB trace routing, impedance control, and material selection.
  • Experience in EMC compliance and mitigation techniques.
  • Knowledge of project planning and electronic enclosure design.
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing is desirable.
  • Basic embedded firmware knowledge is a plus.

Electronic Design Engineer Duties:

  • Develop and optimise PCB schematics and multilayer layouts.
  • Select suitable components and specify PCB fabrication requirements.
  • Create assembly instructions for special build requirements.
  • Resolve assembly challenges and improve DFM/DFT with production teams.
  • Provide necessary technical support to other departments.
  • Collaborate with engineers, account managers, customers, and suppliers for electronic assembly solutions.

 

Electronic Design Key Skills:

  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, Fusion/Eagle).
  • Strong time management and planning skills.
  • Commitment to version control and change management.
