This employed Retirement Planning Specialist job in Whiteley provides the opportunity to join a regional financial planning firm and focus on providing advice to existing clients entering decumulation.

As a Retirement Planning Specialist, you will be introduced to clients from your fellow Financial Advisors, for clients who are requesting a significant withdrawal; are entering decumulation stage and want to undertake full retirement planning or wish to make changes to their retirement income strategy.

Majority of the cases will be with existing clients or enquiries specifically for this area of advice. You should also aim to help grow the client base through networking, referrals or converting company leads.

You will act as the subject matter expert for retirement planning for the business and should have a detailed knowledge of this area of advice and the regulator guidelines. Plus, you will support other Financial Advisors with analysing the client’s overall financial picture, assessing their needs and developing bespoke plans.

You will receive full paraplanning and administration support from their back-office team

Retirement Planning Specialist Requirements

  • You should have 3+ years’ experience as a Financial Advisor, preferably dealing with clients near, entering or in-retirement and have a specialist knowledge of the retirement planning market
  • You should hold full Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent and ideally keen to work towards Chartered status
  • Preferably, you should have AF7 or other pension transfer qualifications
