OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and materials handling, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within our facility. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform heavy lifting, making it essential for maintaining our high standards of productivity and safety.

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 07.30am to 13.30pm

Pay:

Annual salary of £25,000 - £25,500

Duties

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
  • Move products throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying quantities and inspecting for damages.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct basic maths calculations for inventory management and stock control.
  • Assist with equipment repair as needed, ensuring minimal downtime in operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and repair.
  • Familiarity with materials handling practices and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely and effectively.
  • Basic maths skills for inventory tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork.
  • A valid forklift operator's licence is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate.
