Test engineer

Fareham

£26,000 + 20% shift uplift and additional opportunities for overtime (Circa £30,000 - £35,000)

Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, is looking for a Test Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work in their state-of-the-art test facility, performing RF (Radio Frequency) testing. The successful candidate will contribute to a 4 shift basis rotating shift pattern (10am-10pm or 10pm-10am) , ensuring comprehensive testing services are delivered. Training and development will be offered over a initial 3 month period for you to grow your skillset before transferring to the shift rotation

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering test services as part of a 24-hour, 7-day shift pattern, undertaking RF tests in accordance with harmonised test standards or customer-specific test plans
  • Controlling and monitoring the test equipment calibration status during testing
  • Working with customers during attended testing
  • Collaborating closely with the Project Manager to ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Accurately recording results following company quality procedures and providing clear communication at the end of shifts
Job Requirements:
  • Manual Testing, Electronics Test, and EMC Test experience
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or practical experience in an engineering environment
  • Basic knowledge of, and a willingness to learn about, RF technologies, including Cellular technologies such as 2G/3G/4G LTE/5G NR
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good interpersonal and customer skills, with commercial awareness
  • Proven ability to document results accurately
  • Willingness to work in a team on 24/7 shifts performing radiated RF testing using automated test scripts
  • Ability to access the site independently, as public transport may not be available due to shift patterns
  • Experience using general RF test equipment is advantageous but not essential
