We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a managed IT services provider specializing in cloud-hosting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing virtual infrastructure estates (VMware and Proxmox) and ensuring the smooth operation of virtual environments, hardware, and associated services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the virtual infrastructure estate (Vmware and Proxmox).
  • Handle upgrades, patching, and asset management.
  • Monitor hardware and collaborate with service desk teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and update monitoring platforms.
  • Deliver end-to-end project implementation and support.
  • Conduct data centre visits for audits and implementations.
  • Document infrastructure changes and new deployments.
  • Support pre-sales activities for sales and account teams.
  • Provide hardware status, licensing, and capacity reports.
  • Lead internal project-related work as needed.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience with Broadcom VMware suite, Proxmox, and KVM environments.
  • Knowledge of virtualization and cloud services.
  • SAN configuration (VSAN, Ceph, iSCSI).
  • Knowledge of Dell hardware (Servers and SANs).
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships.
  • Understanding of DR and backup solutions.
  • Full UK driving licence- must be willing to travel to data centres in Slough and Farnborough.

Desirable:

  • RHEL/CentOS experience.
  • Exposure to OnmissaEUC and Remote Desktop Services.
  • Knowledge of WAN, LAN, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Windows AD, ADFS, DNS, and DHCP.
