The Role:
Silcom Recruitment are currently searching for a Field Service Technician to join our client located near Wickham, Hampshire. Working within a state of the art, and purpose-built workshop, this represents a superb opportunity to join an established, profitable and successful family run business.
Responsibilities & Requirements of a Field Service Technician:
Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on large square balers.
Respond to breakdowns and conduct warranty work, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
Maintain accurate service records and collaborate with the parts department.
Provide technical support and guidance to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in servicing and repairing agricultural machinery, particularly balers.
Background in engineering, mechanical, or plant maintenance.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during peak seasons.
Valid UK driving license.
Package:
£35,000 basic salary.
Overtime paid at time and a half beyond 40 hours.
40-hour standard workweek (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
**Extended working patterns during summer months (six days on, two days off).**
Peak Season (July to September): Travel required, with technicians working away for up to a week at a time on client sites. Work schedule is six days on, two days off.
Off-Season (October to June): Work is primarily workshop-based, focusing on servicing and preparation for the next season.
