Site Manager (Heavy Civil Engineering) 

Portsmouth 

£60,000 to £65,000 + 22 Days Holiday + Company Van (Work Use Only) + Fuel Card + Bank Holidays + Contributory Pension + Health Care Package + Training 

Monday to Friday 40 Hours per Week 

Site Manager required for a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor who specialise in flood defence schemes along coastlines and rivers. This is a great opportunity for a Site Manager to join a well-established company who are winning new contracts. 

Candidates will be from a heavy civil engineering background with experience of working with plant machinery. Experience in the marine industry would be advantageous. 

Reporting into the Contracts Manager, the Site Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations on site and ensure HSE legislation and site rules are followed. You will typically oversee a team of 20+ people and act as a key point of contact for clients. 

You will also be regularly hands on in supporting the team when required. 

The Site Manager Role: 

* Oversee operations on site

* Oversee HSE – this will involve inspections, planning, incident reports etc.

* Preparing and presenting side inductions, toolbox talks, and training

* Production of method statements and risk assessments

* Identify subcontractor requirements, reviewing prices, appraisals etc.

* Team management – training, motivating, monitoring performances, rewards, grievances etc.
 

The Site Manager:

* Heavily Civils background

* Experience working with plant equipment
