Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum

Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (Flexible) | 42.5 hours per week

Company Overview:

Our client, part of the renowned Edmundson Group, is a leading wholesale distributor for industrial and commercial electrical companies. Recently, they brought some manufacturing processes in-house, expanding their capabilities. They distribute a wide range of electrical products, including audio systems, cable management solutions, Control Systems, HVAC controls, Lighting, Wiring accessories, and more. Serving industries across manufacturing, industrial, and commercial sectors, they are a key player in the electrical wholesale market.

Role Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Wirer / Fitter to join their expanding team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of electrical products, from basic switches and sockets to complex control panels. If you have experience with wiring, assembling electrical systems, and working from schematic drawings, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble electrical components and systems based on specifications and diagrams.
  • Wire looms, cut cables, solder, and crimp electrical components.
  • Work from both mechanical and schematic drawings, as well as create products based on sample mock-ups.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, and machinery, to perform assembly tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly issues, collaborating with team members.
  • Manage inventory and place orders to ensure smooth production.
  • Conduct quality checks and testing to ensure products meet compliance standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Document assembly processes and report any discrepancies or defects.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in wiring up to control panel level.
  • Experience with wire cutting machines and other tools.
  • Ability to cut, solder, and crimp wires.
  • Proficient in reading and working from schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to recreate a product from a sample, without the need for a drawing.
  • Comfortable working on a range of products, from switches and sockets to control panels.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

Desirable Skills:

  • Supervisory experience or an interest in progressing into a hands-on supervisory role.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in working with DIN rails.

Qualifications:

  • C&G Level 2 - Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Desirable: 18th Edition & CSCS card.
