This role will be based on a remote/hybrid working arrangement, the office is based near to Southampton / Fareham - it is envisioned that you would visit the office once a month or once a quarter depending on your location.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the end-to-end contract operations process for the business
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of customer and supplier/vendor agreements
- Support in the drafting and approvals of statement of work
- Collaborate with other members of the wider group legal teams and work cross-functionally with other key stakeholders to resolve issues and find solutions
- Review and consider contracts to understand risk
- Negotiate contracts to obtain the best position for the company
- Obtain approvals for non-standard terms and conditions
- Create, improve, and implement applicable forms, templates, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency
- Responding to ad hoc queries
- Support process changes in alignment with stakeholders where needed and contribute to organisation and maintenance of contract repository
- Provide counsel to business operations regarding legal matters.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on industry-best legal standards for marketing, intellectual property, data protection etc
- Understanding, support, and enforcement of Legal guidelines and procedures
- Be organised, productive and consistent in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Liaise with stakeholders by providing regular updates as to the status of their legal matter via email, phone, and/or Teams
Skills & Experience
- UK undergraduate law degree, minimum bachelors degree in law, or equivalent along with significant post-qualification experience in law firm and/or in-house
- In-house and commercial experience is preferred
- Experience drafting and negotiating agreements is essential
- Ability to effectively manage a high volume of a wide range of projects
- Ability to independently create legal documents and work with tracked changes and version control in documents
- Team-oriented and collaborative.
- Excellent decision-making and communications skills, both written and oral
- Ability to think strategically and to formulate creative and practical legal business solutions is critical
- Must be capable of working at a high level both independently and collaboratively, as part of a team
- Possess comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform remote work professionally, confidentially, efficiently, and independently with minimal supervision
- Strong English writing, editing, negotiation, prioritisation skills are a must
