We are seeking an experienced 3.5t Flatbed Driver to join our clients team based in Fareham.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a flatbed lorry. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.

You may also be responsible for warehouse picking/loading on occasion too.

The role is full time Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 17:00 (42 hours per week) The role is paying initially £12.50 per hour. There is a possibility of going from temporary to permanent for the right person (salary would then be £25,283).

Responsibilities

  • Operate a flatbed lorry to transport goods to various locations safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving heavy vehicles.
  • Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
