We are seeking highly motivated individuals from a variety of backgrounds, while maritime experience is preferred, it is not essential, as you will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced Project Managers and assist them in managing marine interior fitout projects. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their career into a future Project Manager position.
The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication, analytical, and mathematical skills are essential, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders within a team. You should be adaptable, comfortable with global travel, and committed to maintaining health and safety standards.
Role Responsibilities:
- Understand the final scope of the project and take ownership for allocated tasks or projects following relevant sign off.
- Contribute to the planning processes for all required Materials, resources and logistics.
- With approval from project manager work with the relevant stakeholders on the procurement of all Materials, resources and logistics.
- Contribute to project meetings from start up to close down, including regular and ad-hoc project and site meetings.
- With minimal supervision help control and monitor project performance according to the project specification, budget and timeline. Make recommendations for continual improvements that can be made.
- With minimal guidance produce and provide regular project and financial reports to nominated stakeholders identifying any variances and how these are to be managed or mitigated.
- Contribute to the effective management of client interaction as part of the overall project management process including while on site.
- With some Supervision, take responsibility for employees and sub-contracted personnel while on-site. Providing objectives and clear direction on works required. Reviewing progress against the Trimline programme and standard of work, offering feedback or further direction as required.
- In collaboration with the Project Manager/Director, during project delivery review labour and resource levels on site, proactively recommending where adjustments are required.
- Contribute to ensuring Health and Safety standards are adhered to for nominated sites including ensuring personnel are issued with and wear the appropriate Personal Protections Equipment.
- Contribute to the effective management of Health and Safety by promoting and maintaining legislative requirements throughout the nominated site.
- Complete any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by your line manager or designee.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Willingness to work on site in various locations globally for approx. 25% of the year.
- Strong planning, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to influence others in a variety of situations.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Results and detail-orientated approach to work delivery and output.
- Demonstrable experience in using IT systems, ideally including Microsoft excel, Microsoft Project and Video conferencing (E.g. Teams or Skype)
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- College-level education with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or transferable skills, preferably in a marine environment.
