SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support at a lovely SEN Secondary School in Fareham. This is a long-term role requiring patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping children thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to KS3 Students with complex needs, including learning, communication, and sensory challenges.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Support the student with daily routines, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
  • Use visual aids, communication tools, and structured interventions to enhance learning and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly complex needs (ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, or other learning disabilities).
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) and strategies to support students with additional needs.
