Our client, a distinguished entity within the manufacturing and engineering sectors, is currently seeking a Technician / Engineer specialising in RF Wireless to join their team in Fareham. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge RF testing equipment and contribute to the provision of a comprehensive wireless testing service.

specifically performing RF (Radio Frequency) testing on a large variety of IoT Wireless technologies, such as WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Cellular (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE / 5G NR), SRD 433/868MHz, VHF, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Testing of wireless products to various test standards (ETSI and FCC), both within the wireless test labs and at customer premises in the UK and overseas
  • Ensuring all work complies with applicable regulatory requirements or defined test plans supplied by the customer
  • Accurately recording test results using electronic logbook systems and producing test reports, following company quality procedures
  • Working with customers during attended testing
  • Collaborating closely with the Project Manager to ensure work is completed accurately and within the allocated timescales
  • Developing test methods and other departmental documentation
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum/network analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, RF power meters etc.
  • Good understanding of analogue and digital communications technologies
  • IT proficiency, including the use of bespoke software and Microsoft packages (Windows, Word, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow precise processes
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn
  • Flexible approach to work, including willingness to work overtime, shift-work or on customer sites as required
  • Ability to deliver work independently or as part of a team to defined deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with good customer interaction and commercial awareness
  • Proven ability to document results accurately
  • Experience in performing RF accredited testing on wireless technologies (desirable)
Essential Criteria:
  • Education to Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
