Overview - Shipping Administrator
We are currently recruiting for a Shipping Administrator to work for our Segensworth based client. This is a busy role working as part of a small team that will require someone with excellent administration skills and good attention to detail. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the shipping of deliveries and taking a proactive approach to problem solving will be essential. The Role - Shipping Administrator
This is a very involved position where you will be working within a busy team and be responsible for a range of logistics processes from inception to completion. You will be liaising with a variety of people including delivery couriers and customers. You will also be required to update computerised systems, including use of MS Word and Excel to generate documentation and keep track of items sent for shipping. Some specific tasks are as follows:
- Creating and processing customs documentation
- Booking in and storing incoming deliveries
- Inspecting and signing certificates of conformity
- Shipping products electronically via UPS, TNT, Fed Ex etc
- Producing and filling freight forms
- Dealing with all errors, problems and queries
The Ideal Candidate - Shipping Administrator
Previous experience of dealing with shipping documentation, customs processes and industry regulations is needed for this role as well as a flexible, can-do attitude towards work. You will be a well rounded, good calibre individual. In terms of skills you need to be confident with computer systems including Excel and be happy working in quite a structured environment where there is a level of repetition in tasks. You need to be calm in your approach as you have lots of admin tasks to do, and sometimes when things out of your control happen you need to do lots of juggling to sort things out. You’ll have initiative and good attention-to-detail which will help you manage situations.
