Chilworth Partnership are assisting a growing tech company, based near Farnborough, in their search for a Financial Controller. This will be a No.1 finance role, reporting directly to the Managing Director. As the business continues its excellent growth trajectory, their will be an opportunity to progress towards Finance Director level. Post probation, the business have implemented a hybrid working policy, with an expectation to be in the office c. 3 days a week. Whilst managing and developing a small team, responsibilities will include:

  • Play the role of Business Partner to budget holders and department heads, ensuring accountability surrounding the variance results.
  • Manage and lead budget, forecasting and strategic planning processes - implementing controls  and automation as required.
  • Partner and support the MD and wider leadership team with pricing, investment and commercial decision support.
  • Oversee cashflow planning and management.
  • Oversee the preparation of the statutory accounts, working with external auditors.
  • Manage the transactional finance including purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions.
  • Oversee and manage compliance to VAT and other statutory returns.

You will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a minimum of three years PQE.
  • Have strong systems knowledge and played a previous role in an ERP implementation or upgrade,
  • Be a confident manager with ability to lead and develop a team at varying stages of career. 
  • Ability to manipulate complex financial data and convert into meaningful business information, highlighting opportunities fort growth as well as risk.
