Interim Accountant / Finance Manager

  • Duration: 3 to 6 months

My client is seeking an interim Accountant / Finance Manager to keep the finance function moving forward and stable using current processes and procedures

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage the month-end management accounts processes.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Management team to discuss revenue.
  • Handle full processing tasks including entries, billing, and managing client portals until a support role is appointed.
  • Compile all financial figures and prepare VAT returns.
  • Engage in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Track weekly cash flow and prepare flash reports for revenue.
  • Monitor staff utilisation and provide updates comparing timesheets against revenue.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and journal entries, although the main payroll processing is managed elsewhere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance.
  • Ability to handle financial data processing and analysis.
  • Experience with VAT returns.
  • Proficient in using financial software and Excel (pivots and v lookups).
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
