About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable accountancy practice based in the lovely area of Camberley, Surrey. They are looking for a Newly Qualified or Experienced General Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, client-focused firm that offers both career development and work-life balance.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing a mix of accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and management accounts services, while delivering exceptional service and advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Preparation:

    • Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Taxation:

    • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
    • Review VAT returns and liaise with clients to resolve any queries.
    • Provide tax planning advice to clients to optimise their tax position.
  • Management Accounts & Bookkeeping:

    • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss reports, and cash flow statements.
    • Bookkeeping for a range of clients, including maintaining accurate records and reconciling bank accounts.
    • Support clients with day-to-day financial management and provide recommendations for improving accounting processes.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Managing a portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Acting as a point of contact for clients, offering advice and resolving queries in a timely manner.
  • Compliance & Advisory:

    • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and liaising with HMRC where necessary.
    • Offering business advisory services to support clients' growth and financial health.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of general practice accountancy, alongside excellent communication skills and attention to detail. You'll also need experience in management accounts and bookkeeping to provide a well-rounded service to clients.

Requirements:

  • Newly Qualified or Experienced Accountant (ACA/ACCA).
  • Experience working within a practice environment.
  • Competence in bookkeeping and management accounts preparation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a keen eye for detail.
