Role Overview:

As a Qualified Practice Accountant, you will take on greater responsibility in managing client portfolios, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and providing strategic tax and advisory services. You’ll be expected to take the lead on client meetings and work closely with the Partner team, providing high-level support and recommendations to clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to supervise and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional growth while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact and building strong relationships.
  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance work.
  • Providing advisory services to clients, including tax planning, business advice, and strategic direction.
  • Reviewing the work of junior and part-qualified staff, offering guidance and development opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving efficiency within the team.
  • Managing client projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Supporting the Partner team with business development and client management activities.
Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • You will be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with a strong track record in practice and experience managing client portfolios.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of accounting and taxation regulations, with the ability to provide strategic advice.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) would be beneficial.
