Company: ABS IT Services, a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP), specialises in a comprehensive range of services including Hardware, Software Development, Virtualisation, Hosted Servers, Microsoft Products, Telecommunications, Disaster Recovery Solutions, Cyber/Data Security, Website Development, and Systems Maintenance. We are also at the forefront of autonomous drone delivery innovation and are seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant to bolster our team.

Job Description

This list of duties is not exhaustive, the role offers opportunities for the appointed person to develop other skills that the Company can benefit from:

  • International accounting
  • Financial Modelling & Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for large projects
  • Accounts receivable/payables
  • Bank reconciliation and allocation of all bank payments and receipts
  • Monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation
  • Processing of VAT returns
  • Management accounts
  • Annual accounts preparation for processing by the company-chartered accountants
  • Company documentation and procedures
  • Credit card accounting and payment preparation
  • Stock Control within Sage and external to Sage
  • General office administration
  • Payroll entry into Sage
  • Processing journals in Sage including, Payroll, Prepayments and Accruals
  • Cashflow - planning and forecasting
  • Other general accounting tasks including:

o Monitor accounts inbox and deal with emails

o Supplier correspondence and contact

o Customer correspondence and contact

o Add products, process purchase orders and purchase invoices

o Process web orders, add products, raise delivery notes and sales invoices

o Process email and ad-hoc orders, add products, raise delivery notes and sales invoices

o Email purchase orders and delivery notes and update in Sage

o Email delivery notes and sales invoices and update in Sage

o Processing and accounting in Sage for credit card expenses - receipts preparation for matching using People HR software

o Processing of ad-hoc business expenses purchased with Debit cards

o Petty Cash - processing of cash expense and adding to Sage

o Filing across all areas - adding processed documents to the respective files and folders

Personal Attributes

Essential Skills:

  • Must be passionate, driven and have desire to succeed
  • Participate in meetings with the customers, suppliers and company employees
  • Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and resilience under pressure
  • Proficiencies in job related computer skills including Sage, MS Office, Order/Stock Management/SharePoint
  • Excellent management, organisational & administrative skills
  • Experience in international accounting, FP&A & financial modelling
  • Experience in managing similar business accounts would be beneficial
  • Ambition and self-motivation
  • Full driving licence

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Accounting & Finance
  • Or AAT qualified
  • Industry qualifications relevant to the appointment

Experience:

  • Accounting experience in the UK: Minimum 5 years
  • Must have recent experience in preparing management accounts, VAT returns and financial statements for corporate clients and financial modelling for big projects
  • Must be entitled to work in the UK
  • Must have own transport as public transport is not convenient for the Farnborough airport business parks
