This prestigious and global organisation based in Farnborough is currently going through a period of expansion and as a result of this they are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team to help support the needs of the business.

This is a full-time permanent role which would suit someone who has at least 1-2 years’ previous experience working in an accounts department and who is looking to progress their career in accounts and finance.

Accounts Assistant - About The Role

The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in all aspects of the day to day running of the finance department. The role will suit someone who is good at multi-tasking and able to prioritise and manage responsibilities to ensure support is provided and deadlines are met.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Review coding and VAT treatment of purchase invoices, correcting where necessary
  • Assist in weekly payment run calculations, identifying vendors needing payment
  • Set up daily payments for operators with required approvals
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure payments are received from clients before operators are paid
  • Download and prepare daily finance reports
  • Confirm vendor bank details and address invoice queries
  • Allocate payments to vendor invoices and update payment tracker daily
  • Assist with bank reconciliation
  • Reconcile age creditors report, following up past due items
  • Review and code expenses
  • Handle general accounts inbox queries

The successful Accounts Assistant will have/be:

  • 1-2 years’ experience of working in a finance team
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritising workloads
