Assistant Accountant, £30-35k + Bonus / Bens, Farnborough

Looking for a well-skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant with at least 2 or 3 years of experience to join the team at this fast-paced business in Farnborough. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based role. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. You will support the Finance Manager and Finance Director with day-to-day accounting activities and assist the wider team as necessary. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain approval, code, and post supplier invoices onto the accounting system
  • Generate sales invoices from their bespoke client management system and post to accounting system
  • Prepare BACS runs for approval
  • Post daily bank receipts and payments to accounting system
  • Processing staff mileage and expenses
  • Processing company credit card expenses
  • Bank reconciliation (multi-currency)
  • Updating daily Exchange Rates on all systems
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with monthly accounts preparation
  • Monitoring daily communications and actioning/responding as needed
  • General accounts administration
  • Further ad-hoc duties as required

Required Skills:

  • At least 2 or 3 years of all-round finance / accounting experience
  • Strong numerical and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking and workload prioritisation skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced finance department
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) – (Essential)
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (Beneficial)
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Multi-currency experience (Beneficial)
  • Must be able to meet Security Clearance requirements
  • Background checks will be carried out to include credit checks and 5-year work history
