We are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance & Risk Manager to ensure our firm adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, minimizing risk and maintaining our reputation for excellence. The role involves managing the firm’s operational compliance functions and contributing to the strategy and plans for compliance moving forward.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Set plans and objectives for the compliance function and actively participate in strategy development.
  • Evaluate risk levels within the firm’s compliance procedures and communicate findings to the Compliance Board.
  • Oversee policies, systems, and controls related to compliance, reporting breaches to regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Advise the Compliance Board on compliance measures and serve as the primary contact for data protection inquiries.
  • Investigate and recommend actions in response to client complaints and provide guidance on corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver effective risk and compliance training and conduct audits to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Board and insurers to address claims against the firm.
  • Manage and develop the compliance team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of compliance experience within a law firm.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
  • Experience in influencing strategy and working with senior management to resolve client conflicts.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards to minimize risk.
  • Proficiency in IT, organization, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to balance commercial interests with compliance requirements.
