Administrators, sometimes known in construction settings as Document Control officers, need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity. The function is integral to any construction organisation as they process and manage various procedures, paperwork, communications, permits, orders, etc. Duties typically include:
- Using content management systems to maintain internal databases;
- Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information;
- Devising and maintaining office systems;
- Booking rooms, attending meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes;
- Managing and maintaining budgets, as well as invoicing;
- Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts;
- Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment;
- Sorting and distributing incoming post and organising and sending outgoing post;
- Photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues.
- Organising & Delivering Site Inductions
- Collecting and Storing Health & Safety documentation
- Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spread sheets and databases

Typical Work Patten
40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of 8 hours at college.

- No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so youll need to be quick on your feet to respond!

- Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences
- Ability to travel freely across our patch to visit different sites and travel to training days
- Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment.

- Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols
Qualifications required/desirable
Minimum Requirements
English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above.
Desired Requirements
It will be an advantage if you have some previous related work experience and you should be confident using ICT and Microsoft Office.
Key Training/College Information
K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Business Administration course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider.
The apprenticeship duration is 18 - 21 months.
Eligibility
To start this apprenticeship, youll need to be:
- living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status
- not enrolled on any other courses
- 18+ due to site H&S rules
- Full UK drivers license and access to a vehicle to drive to work
