A leading manufacturer of specialist equipment for testing electronics reliability, with over 40 years of industry experience.

Role Outline:
As an Electronics Engineer, you will lead production support and contribute to product development. This hands-on role involves solving production issues, supporting development staff, and ensuring high-quality assembly and calibration of products.

Key Responsibilities of Electronics Engineer:

  • Provide support to production and development teams, customers, and distributors.
  • Lead production support and coordinate with colleagues to resolve issues.
  • Support development and improvement of electronic circuitry with soldering, re-work, and test jig skills.
  • Create and modify PCB schematics, layouts, and BOMs for manufacturing.
  • Ensure all development work aligns with hardware, firmware, and calibration procedures.
  • Collaborate with Production Technicians to maintain effective quality control.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure documentation accuracy and control.

Experience and Qualifications of Electronics Engineer:

  • HNC/HND in Electronic Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in electronic production assembly, maintenance, development, and customer support.
  • Experience working in a small business environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to fault-find down to component level.
  • Knowledge of calibration methods is essential.

Key Skills of Electronics Engineer:

  • Expertise in microcontroller and DSP-based circuits, embedded firmware development, and analogue circuit functionality.
  • Proficiency in surface-mount and through-hole soldering.
  • Strong electro-mechanical assembly skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and PCB design software.
  • Analytical skills for test data analysis and quality assurance.

Desirable Skills of Electronics Engineer:

  • Customer-facing communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacture and design standards (e.g., EMC, Low Voltage Directive).
  • Experience in CAD and Circuit Simulation tools.
