Production Operator - Welding and Soldering Focus

Location: Farnborough

This position will emphasise skills in welding, soldering, wire handling, and microscope work, making it ideal for individuals experienced in manufacturing on a build line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision assembly and inspection of new and existing products, focusing on welding, soldering, and cable and wire management.
  • Operate and inspect parts using microscopes to ensure product quality in line with production standards.
  • Collaborate on problem-solving initiatives for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Provide hands-on support in NPI processes, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
  • Identify and recommend foolproof tooling and assembly aids to improve production accuracy.
  • Assist in training operators, particularly in welding and soldering techniques.
  • Ensure all production documentation is up to date and legible.
  • Utilise problem-solving tools such as PDCA, 5 Whys, and Cause and Effect to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Engineering department to troubleshoot and enhance production processes.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience: The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in welding, soldering, or brazing.
  • Experience in general assembly with a strong focus on wiring and cabling tasks.
  • Familiarity with microscope work for detailed inspections.
  • Previous experience on a build line, particularly with new product introduction (NPI).
  • Experience in training personnel in technical processes.

A formal engineering qualification is preferred, but relevant hands-on experience is highly valued.
