Finance Director / CFO - SUPERB ROLE

McGinnis Loy Associates is delighted to be working with a £20m+ multi-faceted products business who are looking to recruit a Finance Director for their Head Office based on the M3 Corridor/Hampshire border. With multiple subsidiaries and a five year strategic plan to double revenues, this is a fantastic opportunity to join at a pivotal time, reporting directly to the CEO. The position is an ideal role for a Group FC looking for their first move into a CFO position, or a current Finance Director looking for broader responsibility beyond Finance, joining a Senior team who are all driven, passionate, entrepreneurial and focused on growing market share. Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete ownership of corporate governance, IT, HR, Facilities, Vehicle Fleet and Legal functions
  • Compiling the business strategy brief with the CEO and standing in for the CEO when required
  • Managing the finance team - 2 Divisional Financial Controllers and a team of 4 accounts staff
  • Future-proofing the finance function, including AI automation options to streamline financial processes
  • Top level review of monthly management accounts, financial reports and KPI’s for the group business
  • Reviewing rolling cash flow forecasts, managing short term cash flow for the group
  • Preparing the annual budget, reviewing against the 5-year strategic plan and reforecasting
  • Developing a long term bonus scheme targeted around KPI’s, market share, cash position, customer profile etc
  • Ensuring the team complete all quarterly and year-end statutory filings as required by HMRC / Companies House
  • Analysing detailed sales reports and profitability analysis by business division and customer, ensuring the business is on track to meet targets
  • Providing business support and mentoring to the divisional FC’s, including regular UK site visits
  • Ensuring the subsidiary businesses are in compliance with group financial policies
  • Providing M&A support to the CEO and Chairman including due diligence, financial/cost analysis and scenario reporting

To be considered for the Group Financial Controller/Finance Director role you should be a Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with 10+ years PQE experience, from a large Auditing firm initially who has moved into either M&A or Industry with a larger company including a FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) role. You should be confident, articulate & highly driven, to help push the group’s performance to a level that satisfies the CEO’s ambitions. You should be able to look & analyse the business like an investor, driving the management team to take a longer term view to greater/faster growth. With excellent staff management & staff retention skills, you should have a pro-active approach to continual improvement, be highly organised with great attention to detail.
