Semi Senior Accountant & Auditor, Camberley, 35-45k

Join a well-established, growing, and innovative business and advisory firm based in the Camberley area who are looking for a driven, ambitious, and versatile individual to support one of their Business Services Managers. This role involves managing a portfolio of clients and delivering a variety of services including statutory accounts, audit, accounting, VAT advice, and tax returns. This office-based role (modern office with easy access and free parking) offers a dynamic work environment and is ideal for someone seeking their next professional challenge.

Day-to-day duties:

  • Prepare statutory accounts, conduct audits, and manage VAT returns, payroll, corporation tax, and personal tax returns, including reviewing simpler cases.
  • Ensure year-end files are complete with backup schedules to support balance sheet figures.
  • Maintain consistent quality across all work and strengthen internal controls by developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies.
  • Supervise, manage, motivate, and train junior staff.
  • Update existing systems and develop new ones as needed.
  • Ensure budgets are met and provide ad hoc advisory services.
  • Handle client enquiries daily and escalate complex issues to the manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA recently or nearly qualified.
  • Strong Microsoft and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS).
  • Highly IT literate with experience in various accounting software packages.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, proficient in preparing statutory accounts, audits, VAT returns, payroll, and tax returns.
  • Experience in conducting audits for diverse clients and understanding auditing techniques.
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
